Purpose

The idea of a “Salt&Light” during the World Economic Forum (WEF) or how they say the “Davos Meetings” offers an exciting opportunity to bring Christian values and principles closer to a broad public in an inspiring and practical way. Our aim is to bring the WEF audience and local people into contact with Christian messages through discussions, worship & prayer and street events.

In a time when global leaders are seeking solutions to pressing social, economic, and environmental challenges, this initiative holds immense potential to engage a wide audience and spark meaningful conversations. Scripture calls us to be the “salt of the earth” (Matthew 5:13), reminding us of our role as preservers of life and influencers of positive change in the world. As bearers of God’s Kingdom, we are also called to be the “light of the world” (Matthew 5:14), shining brightly and refusing to hide. However, we can only truly embody this light when we acknowledge Jesus as its source, for He declared, “I am the light of the world” (John 8:12). With this in mind, during the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos, we aim to be both salt and light, celebrating Jesus as the light of the world through various impactful activities.

Seeking God with Humble Hearts

At the start of the Davos Meetings, we want to gather on Tuesday to come before God with humility and expectation. Our desire is to create space to listen to Him, to seek His guidance, and to invite His Spirit to move in us and through us.

History shows that true and lasting change begins in the heart. Just as the Moral Re-Armament movement in Caux after World War II sparked reconciliation through humility, forgiveness, and a return to higher values, we believe God longs to bring fresh renewal today.

This gathering is not about strategy or power, but about surrender—placing God at the center, opening ourselves to His leading, and asking Him to shape us into instruments of peace and hope.

Create Connection

The Salt & Light Café is a welcoming meeting place for meaningful conversations and genuine connection. It is a space that radiates warmth and coziness, inviting people to slow down and feel at home. Everyone is welcome—whether you are attending the WEF, a local resident, part of the security team, or a member of the press. Help yourself to a free cup of coffee, tea, or water. Croissants will be available in the mornings, and a few sweet treats will also be offered. We hope you will enjoy this place as a moment of rest, hospitality, and open conversation.

Perspectives and experiences from a Christian view

In collaboration with the School of Biblical Christian Worldview from YWAM Wiler, we would love to see one or more events centered around discussing and engaging with topics related to the World Economic Forum (WEF). Such discussions are crucial as we seek to deepen our understanding and involvement in the political and economic affairs of the world. It is essential for us, as followers of Christ, to thoughtfully engage with these issues, bringing a biblical perspective to the conversations shaping our global future.

Inviting Gods presence

Our aim is to create a place that offers space for prayer, intercession, worship and adoration. This place should be accessible to everyone during the day. In addition to guided prayer and worship times, we also offer opportunities to spend time with God by yourself.

Good News to all people

The good news of Jesus Christ is for everyone, and we are committed to sharing it in meaningful and impactful ways. We are planning creative and inspiring activities to introduce people to Jesus and offer opportunities for prayer. On Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, we will host special events featuring candles and art at Bubenbrunnen/Postplatz. These gatherings are designed to spark curiosity, foster conversations, and shine the light of Christ in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
